Editing your plant pictures - quick and easy!

TyTags DIY is a label and signage design tool. It is not designed to be a photo editing tool.
However, there are plenty of terrific (and free!) photo editing applications available on the internet that work very nicely alongside TyTags DIY. A quick Google search using the terms “freeware photo editing” should turn up lots of options.

The benefit of using a photo editing application alongside TyTags DIY is that you can adjust and enrich the colors in your photos, and cut and paste just the portions of the photos that you want.

For example, if you have a great photo of a hibiscus plant, but only want to show the a single flower on your tag, you would:

  1. open the original photo in the image editing software,
  2. select which part of the photo you want,
  3. adjust the colors and contrast to make everything brighter,
  4. then copy (usually by pressing the Ctrl-C keys),
  5. then go to your design in DIY and paste (simply use the Ctrl-V keys) and bingo, you are done

Download PhotoFiltre from http://photofiltre.free.fr/utils/pf-setup-en.exe. This nifty little free program does pretty much everything you need for photo-editing, without lots of complex stuff getting in the way.
